Yoichiro Ishino
Profile
Yoichiro Ishino began studying violin in early childhood, and also studied music theory and ear training at the Osaka College of Music Kindergarten Division.
During this period, he developed perfect pitch.
Later, influenced by rock and heavy metal, he began playing electric guitar.
As the composer, arranger, guitarist, and producer of the metal band
AREA51,
he released four full-length albums, earning strong recognition mainly from media in Europe and the United States.
The albums featured world-class musicians including Rob Rock (IMPELLITTERI), Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth / Soilwork), Mike LePond (Symphony X), and Matt Guillory (James LaBrie).
Through these productions, he worked with top overseas producers and engineers such as Jens Bogren (Dragonforce / Arch Enemy / Angra / Dir en Grey), Fredrik Nordstrom (In Flames / Arch Enemy / Hammerfall), Jacob Hansen (Amaranthe / Primal Fear / Pretty Maids), and Mika Jussila (Stratovarius / Sonata Arctica / Children of Bodom).
He has been interviewed by numerous Japanese media outlets including YOUNG GUITAR, BURRN!, Guitar Magazine, Natalie, and BARKS, as well as overseas media such as BW&BK and Fireworks Magazine.
In January 2016, he founded Crunch Studio in Shinagawa, Tokyo. Since then, he has worked on sound production, recording, mixing, and mastering for a wide range of projects, from metal and rock to hip-hop and idol music.
He has also been featured in interviews and discussion articles by Sound & Recording Magazine, Sound Designer, WeROCK, the HOOK UP blog, and other media outlets.
